I have a Compaq Presario and the sound control disappeared and I cant get tec. support b/c I'm out of warranty

Like I said, i have no sound, i clicked on audio control and it says theres no device, what can i do to get back sound.....My speakers are in the monitor.I have a Compaq Presario and the sound control disappeared and I cant get tec. support b/c I'm out of warranty
Its a simple fix.... that sucks hp did not provide any help.





To fix it all you have to do is go to the hp/ compaq website.. enter your computer model number (found on the bottom of your laptop under the XP product key sticker) in the search bar and then it will direct you to a page on your laptop.





Now there is a link to drivers follow that link and find the audio driver for your operating system.I have a Compaq Presario and the sound control disappeared and I cant get tec. support b/c I'm out of warranty
You can go to control panel, make sure clssic view is selected, and open Sound and Audio Devices Properties page. In there you'll find your mixer and your sound driver.
try fn and the home button? I have the same computer, im not sure whats wrong, but you should try that.
