Lincoln Town Car A/C - Climate Control problem?

Problem is clutch is not recieving power. I get 12.2volts at the ';new'; clutch with harness off, eng running. (low, reads 14 at batt) plug in harness, shows 1.2 v. clutch doesnt engage. Hooked jumper from batt + to relay, clutch engaged, a/c works. hooked jumper to low press switch. relay clicking (cycling) clutch doesn't engage same thing. Is this voltage prob the climate control unit? I'm about to spend some cash on one and looking for some input before I buy another part I don't need. What are the common failures of the climate control? Thanks for the help

I have checked all switches and wiring under the hood. the problem is either in the wiring to/ from the climate control, or the unit itself.Lincoln Town Car A/C - Climate Control problem?
Quit being such a tightwad and either take it to a shop, or buy another car!!Lincoln Town Car A/C - Climate Control problem?
you have to first make sure the climate control is requesting the A/C unit to come on being summer that shouldn't be hard to do but to make sure select MAX defrost that always request the unit to run. Now see what the voltage is at the unit if its not around 12 volts or more the climate control is not working correctly. It sounds like you have already concluded that since you were able to jump off the battery and make the clutch engage. It sounds like the climate control isn't working right but you might just have a fuse blown its not to command the climate control won't even engage the clutch.
No fuse blown , Make sure the A/C is on and the climate control is on max , If A/C comes on when you jump the cycling switch , the cycling switch may be bad, hope this helps.
