My mom has had diabetes, hepatitis c under control for years until she fell recently and has a ventilator now.

The hospital says my mom will not survive due to her problems. She is alert and awake but I can't stand to see her suffer. She is scared and has the will to live, but how do I tell her goodbye and she that she won't be coming home? She has managed her problems for years until she fell and is on her death bed now. They say they can give her ';Comfort Care'; or ';up'; the meds. I feel this is cruel and am sick to my stomach and can't stand the thought of her suffering in their or if she is at all. I don't know what to do as her life lies in my hands. I can't get a straight answer from the nurses and feel as though they think she is just a pile of problems to them.
