Its great to think of abortion as only being performed in well thought out, extreme circumstances, but I think its mainly just used as birth control by scared teenagers and young adults. Is saying that abortion isn't used as Plan C birth control, like saying affirmative action doesn't mean quotas?
Abortion and affirmative action ARE two different things. And, SO WHAT if some people use abortion like ';Plan C';? Make birth control and Plan B easily available and affordable, educate people instead of wasting money on abstinence based sex education, and we might have more success in reducing the number of abortions performed. Is saying that abortion isn't used as Plan C birth control, like saying affirmative action doesn't mean quotas?
Yes. Though I do not agree with your complete statement.
So you're saying those scared teenagers and young adults with no financial or emotional stability should be parents? Don't be surprised to find dumpster babies then. Aren't you glad Melissa Drexler, AKA the prom mom carried her pregnancy to term?
Well affirmative action doesn't necessarily mean quotas but abortion is used as birth control in some cases, so no..
When you say, 'used as birth control' you imply that abortion is on-par with a condom or BC pills. I don't think there are many women who justify having unprotected sex because they can run down to their abortion clinic a few weeks later.
Abortion is birth control:
Abortion in the United States
Incidence of Abortion
49% of pregnancies among American women are unintended; almost half of these are terminated by abortion.
In 2000, 1.31 million abortions took place, down from an estimated 1.36 million in 1996. From 1973 through 2000, more than 39 million legal abortions occurred.
Each year, 2 out of every 100 women aged 15鈥?4 have an abortion; 48% of them have had at least one previous abortion and 61% have had a previous birth.
An estimated 43% of women will have at least one abortion by the time they are 45 years old.
I have known girls that use it as the month after pill.
NO.
incorrect on about a million scales.
the two aren't comparable.
I hope you realize there are a lot of factors that go into any decision regarding abortion, and it is an extremely complex issue. who the hell are you to judge????!!!
