Does the D.C. gun control law make gun control even more difficult?

Since 1976, Washington D.C. has made it illegal for an individual “to keep an operable firearm in their homes, much less carry one on their person.”





It’s no surprise, ironically, that D.C. has one of the highest murder rates in the country. So, with gun control in place for 30 years and a high murder rate, doesn’t this “disarm” (ouch!) the gun control crowd’s argument?Does the D.C. gun control law make gun control even more difficult?
It is typical of liberal cities hug a thug and the rest be damnedDoes the D.C. gun control law make gun control even more difficult?
You would think, but the liberal is a strange beast, not discouraged by a lack of logic or substance in the positions they take.
It also bolsters the argument that if guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.
Gun control is NOT, I repeat NOT based on logic, it's real purpose is PEOPLE CONTROL.
You'll notice that no one taking the side of gun control has responded. This is because facts, logic, and reason are the enemy of the gun control crowd.
I can tell you first hand as i lived in DC most of my life. and left partly because of this ban. this city got more unsafe after that gun ban was imposed. to make matters worse the police went to cort to press the arguement they are not responsible for protecting individual citizens. the court agreed.So you cant defend your self and the Police do not have too either, who do you call in DC? Underdog? 2nd amendment aside, the DC city counsel rendered the declaration of independence invalid. You have not right to life in DC because you cannot defend it. the criminals and murders are running rampant in DC for years because they know no one will stop them.
GUN CONTROL IS A WAY TO SLOWLY DISARM THE PEOPLE AND TAKE AWAY THE 2ND AMENDMENT . IT IS THE GOAL OF THE LIBERALS TO TOTALLY DISARM AMERICA BEFORE THEY HAND THE U.S.A. OVER TO THE U.N. FOR THE ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT . AT THAT TIME THE U.N. THUGS WILL GO HOUSE TO HOUSE AND PICK UP THE LOOSE GUNS OR KILL THE PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO GIVE THEM UP . REMEMBER THE GESTAPO OF WW2 GERMANY , THEY KILLED ANY ONE WHO DIDN'T HAND OVER THERE GUNS . BE READY TO DEFEND THIS COUNTRY WITH YOUR LIFE AND ARM UP . THE BLOODIEST WAR EVER IS COMING UP WHERE WE WILL FIGHT THE ENTIRE WORLD HERE ON AMERICAN SOIL , IT WILL COME WHEN WE REVOLT TO THE LIBERALS ( DEMOCRATS ) HAND OVER THE U.S.A. TO THE U.N. .( NO CONSERVATIVE WOULD EVER DO SUCH A UN-AMERICAN ACT ) THE U.N. HAS AN ARMY HERE IN THE COUNTRY AT THIS TIME ( HAS HAD FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW ) A FEW YEARS BACK I WATCHED SEVERAL LONG TRAINS GO BY THAT HAD NOTHING BUT FLAT CARS WITH ARMY TRUCKS ON THEM . AS I LOOKED AT IT PASS , I THOUGHT TO MY SELF BOY HAS THINGS CHANGED IN THE ARMY I DON'T SEE A SINGLE ONE THAT LOOKS FAMILIAR . THEN I SAW A GRILL IN A TRUCK THAT HAD A 3 POINT STAR ------ MERCEDES --- THEN I REALIZED THESE WERE NOT AMERICAN ARMY , BUT U.N. ARMY . BE READY IT'S COMING AND NOT THAT FAR AWAY . BILL CLINTON SIGNED PAPER WORK TO GIVE US TO THE U.N. WHEN HE WAS IN AND HILLERY WANTS TO FINISH IT .
I also creates a criminal sub class of other wise law abiding Americans that realize it is better to risk letting the law catch them carrying a operable weapon than to risk letting the lawless catch them with out it.
I appreciate the correlation, however you have to look at other cities as well and see if it there is a true link between high murder rates and gun control. Look at Detroit, where people have been able to carry concealed weapons for years. Unfortunately the murder rate continues to rise and Detroit is back on top as the most violent American city.





The fact of the matter is that your family is still far more likely to be killed by your gun then by a criminal's (through accidental or crime of passion killing).





The Supreme Court is actually looking at this law soon. If they overturn the gun ban in DC then it will outlaw ALL handgun bans in the nation (which I'm almost 100% certain they will). If they allow DC's handgun ban then you can start to expect other states and municipalities to follow suit.





I think most hardent gun control backers (for which I admit I'm one) will tell you that the only way gun control will work is if handguns are outlawed in ALL American states and municipalities. However the chances of that are slim and none, so that is why we should require stiffer background checks, outlaw gun shows, and require locks on handguns.





EDIT - Ok...two thumbs down because you don't agree with my thoughts. I get it, but at least comment on my points if you are going to give me a thumbs down. Do people only want to hear what they agree with and not hear the opposite opinion on a topic. I don't think I attacked anyone's argument and I think I made my points in a very non-confrontational way.
