It would depend upon what your control is (positive or negative). For instance, if your control is a negative control and you are looking for expression of C/EBPb from a plasmid transfected into the cells and not expecting C/EBPb expression in your control cells, then I would expect that you would observe no expression of C/EBPb in your controls.
