Why won't my cheat box appear on sims 2 for pc when I type in control shift c?

I have sims 2 on pc, and my cheat box used to come up when i pressed control shift c, but all of a sudden it won't come up anymore. What's the problem? Please help, i've tried everything!Why won't my cheat box appear on sims 2 for pc when I type in control shift c?

You may need to have at least one of your Sims 2 games registered though to be able to get the link to work, I don't know for sure as I'm already registered there. So, just in case, I'll copy and paste it here.

Hi, I have this under technical help but no one's replying. My cheat box won't open and I've tried all the standards: restarting the game, restarting my computer, reinserting the disc, both sides of the keyboard and a different keyboard - even calling EA support - and it still won't work. Someone has suggested something called Cursor XP. What is this, where can I find it, what do I do, and I have Vista - will this make a difference?

ANSWER:


CursorXP interferes with the cheat box opening. If you have it, you need to disable it before launching the game. I have no idea where to download it, but it certainly won't help your situation.

If you need me to copy and paste that one in, let me know. But basically, if you have any programs installed that also use those three keys as hot keys then you either need to change or delete the hot key for those programs or try making sure that the program is turned off in your background programs.





There are other programs that use Ctrl+Shft+C as a hotkey combination too. You would have to check out all the programs that are running in the background on your computer to determine if any use that hotkey combination. Or turn them all off before starting the game.





You could also try searching the BBS. Someone else may have identified other software that can interfere. CursorXP, historically, has been the main one that causes this problem.

if you downloaded a lot of stuff, it may have messed up your game, try resetting, or reinstall your sims 2 games....
