Why aren't the lights working for the A/C controls in my 90 nissan stanza?

At night my a/c control is not lit at all. Fuses under the dash look okay. I took apart the dash to see if there were some bulbs i could replace behind the a/c. looks like there are several LED lights (the ones I saw looked okay). I can't believe every one of those would be out (10 or so). What should I be checking? Why aren't the lights working for the A/C controls in my 90 nissan stanza?
You were right to check the LEDs. The unit as a whole must be replaced. As in ALL lights. Same with radios. The whole unit of lights must be replaced to fix one. It's more trouble than it's worth.

If the lights are working then something may be blocking the light from the button. Most cases it's the lights, though. Why aren't the lights working for the A/C controls in my 90 nissan stanza?
b/c its a 90 nissan stanza.
You need to get a meter and make sure you have voltage at the wire entering the unit where the lights are... a test light will work too.
I dunno but I have same problem with 96 Infiniti G20. Add to that a problem with right rear brake light, comes on OK if no headlights / taillights on, but if taillights are on, it doesn't come on. Very weird.
