I need to find a plastic cover with a lock for my in-home A/C control unit to stop people from changing the temperature. It's just one of those thermostat control units. About 4 inches tall, 6 inches wide and has a depth of about one inch. Does anyone know where I can find one? Or even what that cover is called? Like the ones that you sometimes see in restaurants. Thanks for any information you can give me.Plastic cover with a lock for indoor A/C control unit?
Like the others have said, a home center or electrical supply. Or you could do what I did at work. I removed the small set screw that the little control lever was connected to. This waay the people who always changed thought they had changed it. No hard feelings about somebody ( me, the supervisor ) deciding what to set it at. Worked for 7 yrs.Plastic cover with a lock for indoor A/C control unit?
Actually, these things are very common in office buildings all over the country. You put a dozen people in an office, eight of them will want a different temp. than the one that's set, then they all keep moving the control up and down. I'd start at a good office supply store, Office Max, Office Depot, whatever you have in your city. Odds are they'll know exactly what you're talking about. Just be sure to take your measurements along to get the proper size.
Take your pick

go to the nearest hardware store such as home depot or a lowes.....my boss sent me to lowes last year to get one of those cause the employees kept doing the same thing
Hardware stores should have them.
go to a electrical store ,like a wholesaler they will have something there to suit
