In most Windows programs, they correspond to copy and paste, respectively.
Control+c is copy and Control+ v is paste. You have to highlight the text you want to copy first though, other wise it wont do anything :-) Then you can paste it into a word document or email using the ctrl+v

Everyone already answered correctly, but there are lots of other keyboard shortcuts, too. Go to the HELP feature of the program you are using and type in ';keyboard shortcuts';. It will bring up a long list of cuts you can use to save time.

on its own, it will so nothing....when you select text..and tthen hit the buttons, cntrl c will copy the text, and cntrl v will paste it in the position where the cursor is located.

So, if you highlight a section of text with your cursor,
and press control+c, then you have just ';copied'; the portion of text.
Then you can ';paste'; the portion of text to anywhere you want (ie. Microsoft Word, address bar). You'd then have to press control+v.
You have now successfully copied and pasted.
