What control unit controls the a/c on a car?

I have a 2001 dodge stratus and my a/c isnt working i read that i need to replace a control unit but i dont know which one.is either the ECU,ECM or the PCM.What control unit controls the a/c on a car?
First off, You should check or have checked the refrigerant level in the AC system. Most systems have a pressure switch that will disable the compressor if the refrigerant is low.

Now

PCU = Powertrain Control Unit

ECM = Engine Control Module

ECU = Engine Control Unit

If you think about this logically, for small engine configurations ( non-V8 cars) it is not uncommon for the ';control'; unit to disengage the A/C Compressor during downshifting the transmission to accelerate - as in passing gear, etc...

So I think the PCU is the most logical choice.

Good luck, I hope this helps...
